Hi there! I’m Ashe!

I love to craft things! I mainly crochet and design amigurumi patterns. Many of my creations are heavily inspired by my nerdy interests and love of video games.

How Did You Learn to Crochet?

I was inspired to learn how to crochet back in 2015 after seeing images of Pokemon amigurumi on the internet. At that time, I thought crochet was just for making blankets and scarves. I had no idea that it could be used to make adorable plushie dolls! It was then that I went out and bought some hooks and a few skeins of yarn. Then, through the power of the internet and free YouTube tutorials, I learned how to crochet and make amigurumi. Now I use my crochet hook to bring my nerdy interests to life!

How Long Did it Take You To Make That?!

I have never actually timed myself making a project from start to finish! I would say it definitely varies from project to project. The bigger the amigurumi piece, the longer it takes to complete. A small project could maybe take 3 to 5 hours while a larger project could take 15 hours or more! It’s very easy to lose track of time when you are crocheting…

What Are Your Favorite Brands?

I can’t really say that I have any one particular favorite brand of yarn. I’m a military spouse that moves around a lot, so I have to use whatever yarn I can find in the area I’m living in at that time. Red Heart Super Saver has been a lifesaver as far as availability and color selection. I do love Loops & Threads: Impeccable Yarn whenever I can find it!

What is Your Favorite Video Game?

My favorite video game franchise of all time is by far Pokemon! I have been playing the games since Red and Blue first came to the United States in 1998. There are many other games I absolutely adore. Some honorable mentions are: Final Fantasy 7 & 10, The Legend of Zelda series, Classic Sonic the Hedgehog, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Hollow Knight, Shadow of the Colossus, Undertale… there’s too many to list!

Can You Make Something For Me?

I’m not doing commissions right now. I want to keep my focus on designing amigurumi patterns. If I ever have extra dolls, I will sometimes put those up for sale.

How Can I Learn to Make Amigurumi?

You will want to learn the very basics of crochet. YouTube is a great place to start your crochet journey! It’s how I learned to crochet. There are countless free tutorials to get you started.

I hope to one day soon make a few tutorials too!
